Salary Grade: NC08 / Salary Range: $36,682 - $64,194
This position provides prompt, professional, and accurate information relating to crash reports and to internal and external customers in person, over the telephone, and through written and/or electronic correspondence and provides backup phone assistance to the call center. This position receives reviews, sorts, scans, and indexes paper crash reports received from law enforcement agencies and accurately enters data into the Crash Reporting System (CRS). This position must also meet a daily production quota. This position understands the requirements for correcting data or format errors and determines the nature of errors. This position requests additional information or corrections from law enforcement by way of system generated correspondence or by telephone to complete all required data fields needed to process the crash report. This position collects fees received from the sale of crash reports, prepares all financial documents required by the current Cash Management Policy and makes daily electronic deposits to a designated banking institution. This position retrieves data elements from main frame databases to create or update driver and owner information.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

Demonstrated customer service experience explaining policies, procedures, and laws using excellent communication skills verbally and in writing.
Demonstrated experience receiving and compiling documents to be scanned and reviewed with attention to detail.
Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office using Word, Excel and mainframe databases and entering data with accuracy.
Demonstrated experience gathering and analyzing data to determine proper courses of action.
Demonstrated experience collecting fees, preparing financial documents, and depositing collected fees to a banking institution.
Additional Expectations:
This position is considered “covered” under the REAL ID Act. Therefore, pursuant to 6 CFR, 37.45, the selected candidate will be required to undergo a background check which includes a name-based and fingerprint-based criminal history record check. The candidate that is selected for the position will be given a conditional offer of employment that would allow him or her to begin work subject to the results of the background check. Prior to beginning employment, the selected candidate will be required to submit to a name-based and fingerprint-based criminal history record check. A cost will be associated with this process for new employees. No cost is associated with this process for existing DMV employees. **
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
