  Job Description

  The Administrative Consultant will be an integral member of the Bureau of Community Colleges and Postsecondary Readiness, providing leadership, technical assistance, and support for CTE educators and administrators across the state.

  Your Responsibilities:

  Serves as the administrative lead in the development, planning, and implementation of related to CTE programs in Bureau of Community Colleges and Postsecondary Readiness.

  Assists with the communication, coordination and collaboration among the CTE section consultants.

  Takes on a leadership role to develop internal and external relationships which will enhance the development of the Department, Division, and the Bureau serving on workforce teams and committees.

  Provides leadership for the Regional Planning Partnerships (RPPs).

  Takes on various projects that may be assigned such as industry-recognized credentials, work-based learning, and CTE childcare initiatives.

  Hours: 8:00 A.M. – 4:30 P.M., Monday –Friday; occasional in-state and out-of-state travel

  A successful candidate will bring or have the ability and desire to learn:

  Passion for pursuing common goals in pursuit of public service

  A systems level-thinking perspective

  Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to present information to small and large groups

  Understanding of and experience working with CTE programs (preferred) OR ability to quickly learn, understand and be effective with working with CTE programs

  Mature emotional intelligence and leadership abilities including ability to foster relationships

  Strategic and analytical mindset

  Ability to work in complex situations and meet deadlines

  Ability to interpret and break down highly technical or regulatory language, and present information in an understandable manner

  Ability to manage self in relation to prioritization and time management

  Conflict resolution and interpersonal skills

  Desire to work with diverse teams and stakeholders

  DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

  Advanced degree in a career and technical education content area

  Teaching experience in a high school career and technical education setting

  Career and technical education teaching experience in a postsecondary setting

  Leadership experience in K-12, AEA, and/or postsecondary setting

  Minimum Qualification Requirements

  Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification:

  1) Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university, and experience equal to five years of full-time, professional-level work in program administration, development, management, or operations.

  2) A combination of a total of nine years of education and full-time experience (as described in number one), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university course work may substitute for one year of full-time experience.

  3) Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in social work, law, education, engineering, or public or business administration, and experience equal to three years of full-time, professional-level work in program administration, development, management, or operations.

  4) Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes two years of full-time work as an Education Program Consultant.
