  Position Summary:

  The Quality and Safety Analyst provides the technical expertise necessary to support and improve the quality, safety and accreditation and analytic efforts of the organization. Provides advanced, diversified, and confidential secretarial services to the Regional Director, Quality, Safety and Analytics and staff.

  Qualifications:

  ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position. Work may occasionally require travel to other Carle Health Peoria region facilities/hospitals. Required to drive your own vehicle for business purposes. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Communication Skills Ability to respond appropriately to customer/co-worker. Interaction with a wide variety of people. Maintain confidential information. Ability to communicate only the facts to recipients or to decline to reveal information. Ability to project a professional, friendly, helpful demeanor. Computer Skills Intermediate computer knowledge: Ability to troubleshoot minor problems within a Windows OS, operates within a network environment, uses spreadsheet, database, word processing and internet applications proficiently.   Essential Functions:

  Project Management Develops a master calendar of agenda items to assist in agenda preparation for the Patient Safety Steering Committee and the Clinical Council meetings. Responsible for taking thorough, concise and accurate notes, setting up presentations and ensuring follow up actions are addressed with a timely turnaround time. Demonstrates high level proficiency in coordinating meeting times and places, preparing and distributing agendas or other source works and notifying participants. Responds to problem shifts - multi-tasks and works under pressure with many interruptions, but is able to complete projects or work tasks successfully. Demonstrates a well-developed ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of people, proactively anticipating needs, both defined and undefined, as evidenced by feedback, enhanced or newly developed processes that improve workflow and effective communication. Technical proficiency - able to apply technical skills to compete the project responsibilities with appropriate level of supervision and is perceived by others to have technical expertise, demonstrating resourcefulness in resolving issues or inquiries and does so in an independent manner.

  Event Coordination Coordinates scheduling of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Apparent Cause Analysis (ACA) activities for 3 campuses. Works with department managers and directors to ensure timely completion of action plans from RCA's and ACA's. Maintains an accurate tracking system for the type of events for timely reporting to the Patient Safety Steering Committee and the Clinical Council, through the event log, ensuring that event documents are safeguarded and secure. Coordinates the completion of the Sentinel Event analysis in a timely manner. Develops improved mechanisms to improve the tracking, reporting and follow-up process. Generates reports and prepares spreadsheets routinely and as needed which are accurate and timely. Facilitates schedules and materials for The Joint Commission survey activities for 3 campuses.

  Administrative/Clerical Support Provides secretarial support in a timely and efficient manner and is able to meet urgent deadlines successfully. Requires minimal direction on routine and non-routine tasks. Completes payroll for department personnel in an accurate and timely manner, and is able to run reports in Kronos as needed. Makes travel/conference arrangements for department employees, including travel itineraries, and coordinates related arrangements. Creates letters, reports, minutes, memos, forms, flow charts, presentations etc., ensuring professional looking, accurate and grammatically correct finished documents. Has well-developed computer software program knowledge in programs such as Excel, Word, Visio and Powerpoint.
