  Job Title: Adjunct Physician Assistant Faculty - Anatomy

  Department: Physician AssistantReports To: Chairperson or her/his designeePrimary Location: PhiladelphiaEmployment Type: Non-ExemptPosition Summary:The Master of Physician Assistant Studies Program within the College of Health Sciences is seeking an instructor of anatomy on the Philadelphia, PA campus.  This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to educate PA students and cultivate learning through traditional and innovative approaches in lecture based learning and cadaver dissection lab.

  COURSE OVERVIEW:The anatomy course is a 6 credit hour course that is delivered through in person instruction.  The course is approximately 10 weeks in length beginning at the start of June and concluding the first week of August. This course entails a lecture component and human cadaver dissection lab component.  Lecture and lab are typically delivered 3 times per week. Designated lecture and lab time will total about 15 - 20 hours weekly.  Several graduate students will serve as teaching assistants to aid in the delivery of instruction during the lab and outside of designated lab time.  Student assessments consist of several computerized exams and practical assessments. A PA faculty member will serve as a course liaison to provide guidance and assistance with administrative aspects of the course.

  Anatomy Faculty Duties and Responsibilities:*Serve as a course director for the anatomy course which is comprised of lecture and lab components*Develop learning objectives to guide student learning*Prepare and deliver instruction in traditional lecture based format*Deliver instruction and provide oversight in human cadaver dissection lab*Participate in the creation and refinement of lecture based exam questions*Participate in the creation of practical lab based exam questions*Evaluate student academic performance*Provide academic advisement to PA students*Assist in student remediation*Oversee anatomy teaching assistants*Communicate and collaborate with PA faculty in the design, coordination, and implementation of the courseRequired Education and Experience:Minim m of a Master's degreeTeaching experience

  Compensation: Competitive and commensurate with experience.
