Summary The Addiction and Recovery Services program provides knowledgeable, confidential, and culturally-sensitive programming and services to the community and within JFCS. The coordinator will play a key role in starting up and growing this newly re-designed program. The ideal candidate will have expertise in this area and a desire to build and grow meaningful programming to support families experiencing Substance Use Disorder (SUD). This is an exciting time to join our team and help to shape and grow this program. The Addiction and Recovery Services Coordinator supports individuals with SUD, and their families through a variety of efforts. Support for families includes providing consultations, referrals, resources, and support groups. Community engagement will include outreach, community education, training, and social media activities. The ideal person for this role has a demonstrated knowledge of SUD, the process of recovery, and harm reduction models. We are looking for someone who enjoys making connections, working one-on-one with families, and developing and presenting community programming. Plan and hold community education programs and support groups. Collaborate with community agencies and JFCS programs to meet community needs. Develop and strengthen partnerships with other community organizations within the Addiction and Recovery space and in the Jewish community. Program Development & Coordination 30%: With the Manager of Professional and Community Education; develop strategic plan and goal setting for the program. Identify community needs and develop effective ways to realistically meet them. Outreach 20%: Attend community events, connect with partners, identify new partners and opportunities, use social media and other community resources to raise awareness of program and offerings. Confidential consultations with JFCS staff and participants 10%: As the content expert in this arena, you will share relevant knowledge and resources with JFCS staff as required. Meet with families to provide confidential supports and resources on an as needed basis Work Environment/Physical Demands Regularly sits at desk or conference table and uses computer keyboard. Ability to bend, stoop, and reach to obtain files, equipment, etc. Frequent verbal and written communication with staff and public, both one-to-one and in group meetings. Awareness of and ability to manage time to meet deadlines and complete work. Frequent interruptions and need to ha dle multiple tasks simultaneously. Indoor office setting with cubicles. Frequent formal and informal interaction with others. Some evenings and weekends. Frequent use of telephone, computer, fax and copier, flip charts, and other tools for presentations. Basic computer skills (Windows, Word, Microsoft Office). Position requires use of private car for meetings and appointments. Must have current Minnesota driver s license, auto insurance with appropriate coverage limits and clean driver record.
