Under the direction and supervision of the department head, assists with the planning and implementation of activities for residents. Helps design programs to encourage socialization, provide entertainment, relaxation and fulfillment, and improve daily living skills.

　　ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

　　Contributes to resident's wellbeing by helping residents use equipment and supplies. Activities may include arts and crafts, outdoor activities, sports, music or drama.

　　Prepares equipment and materials for planned activities and ensures the safety of residents in the activity.

　　Assists or leads the participants in group activities, such as an exercise class or art project. Helps keep records of equipment and its use.

　　Assists in planning programs for residents, which can help to provide socialization, relaxation and exercise.

　　Maintains communication and collaboration with the other staff to promote highest quality care.

　　Treats residents, family members, visitors, and team members with respect and dignity.

　　Maintains the confidentiality of all resident and family information.

　　Maintains knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications.

　　Performs other related duties as required and directed.

　　QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

　　High school diploma or equivalent.

　　Current state driver's license.

　　QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED

　　Prior experience or education in the field.
