Description Robert Half has an Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk opportunity in a stimulating work environment with a team of highly skilled professionals. The candidate's responsibilities in this role include attending to the general needs of the AP/Finance Department, while working closely and reporting to the Accounting Manager. The candidate will mainly focus on matching and batching code, resolving A/P issues, processing expense reports, updating and reconciling sub-ledger to G/L and processing checks are primary areas of focus. This Accounts Payable Clerk role will be located in the Grand Blanc, Michigan area and will be a short-term contract / temporary to hire position.
What you get to do every single day
Ensure invoices, checks, and other documents are properly sorted, logged, scanned, and filed
Manage the process of verifying, logging, and mailing checks, including expediting special handling
Handle the administrative needs of the AP/Finance Department
Carry out a full-cycle A/P
Handle the customer service needs of internal business partners
Help with internal and external audits as required
Complete special projects on an as-needed basis
Handle daily department mail by opening, sorting, and distributing it
Accurately execute daily processes and controls in a timely manner while ensuring company policies are followed Requirements - Prior experience in an A/P role preferred
Detailed and have the ability work independently
Established communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, especially with both technical and financial backgrounds
General familiarity with Prepare Checks
Deep understanding of Account Discrepancies
Practical knowledge of Process Check Requests
Account analysis experience preferred
Wide ranging experience with PeopleSoft ERP
Account Adjustments experience
Quality experience with Process Weekly Check
Account analysis experience highly desired
Solid understanding of Account Adjustments
Proven knowledge of account reconciliation
Well-founded grasp of Accounts Payable (AP)
AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
