Job Summary and Essential FunctionsThe purpose of this job is to serve as the main contact for County expenditures. This involves processing all payments timely in addition to coordinating with departmental managers the best procurement method. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to,monitor, prepare, verify and process AP transactions; process weekly vendor payments, including vendor card payments and mailing of checks; update AP daily; reconcile processed work; respond to and assist with inquiries from businesses, citizens, vendors and user departments; code each payable transaction; maintain department work flow by answering the telephone, sending/receiving emails, copying documents, maintaining files, retrieving and scanning and picking up/distributing mail to various departments; assist and review procurement operations; assist with purchasing activities; coordinate with Department Managers regarding their procurement related activities; assist, review, and monitor expenditures relating to Departmental contracts; and perform all other duties as required.
Education and Qualifications
Associates Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or closely related fieldThree years of experience in customer service, finance or related field or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this positionMicrosoft experience (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)Familiarity with financial and purchasing software, technology, and trendsEffectively communicate in writing and orallyPossess excellent communication, people and customer service skillsPossess organizational and time management skillsPossess valid drivers licenseThis posting lists many of the major duties and requirements of the job and is not all-inclusive.
