Looking to work with a thriving company? Robert Half is seeking a talented Accounting Manager to work with a successful organization that will recognize your efforts. Leading daily operations, such as preparing and/or reviewing appropriate ledger entries and reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger system, preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, and assisting with regulatory reporting as applicable will be essential for this role. To succeed in this role, you will need the ability to create and monitor the company's accounting and finance operations. Located in the Encino, California area, this Accounting Manager position would be on a permanent basis.
Your responsibilities
Fixed assets: depreciation, CIP, asset additions and retirements, understand information flow and capitalization rules· GAAP & IFRS
· Prepaids, expenses, accruals
· Sales and receivables
· Track and review monthly CapEx spend and provide project update status
· Procurement: timely update material and hauler pricing in JDE, communicate any discrepancies when system pricing doesn’t match invoices, review monthly hauler analysis. Manage 2 procurement personnel.
· Monthly accrual for internal and external natural gas spending
· Government filings: sales tax, business licenses, CNG rebates
· Balance sheet account reconciliations
· Month-end, quarter-end, year-end close with journal entries and required reporting
· Working with external auditors on annual and interim audits audits
· Month-end reporting in SURF (corporate reporting system)
· Reviewing journal entries from Junior accountant, working with Jr accountant on ad hoc reports and other tasks
· Equipment leases: maintaining and reporting
Requirements - Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a customer service mindset
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent degree and/or experience
5+ years of recent relevant financial experience
Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred
Working knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is valuable
Critical thinking, problem solving, ability to work independently
Demonstrated technology and analytical abilities
IFRS Accounting experience preferred
Fixed assets experience desired
Strong familiarity with CapEx
Foundational knowledge in Government Filings
