The Advertising Accounting team supports Amazon's advertising business and is responsible for the revenue generated by the various advertising products sold to vendors, sellers, and non-endemic advertisers. This position requires a self-starter who will be responsible for supporting new product launches and expansion efforts, in addition to supporting various aspects of our monthly accounting and reporting process. The role will require you to partner and collaborate with key partners within accounting, finance, tech, legal, and the business in order to determine accounting requirements associated with new product launches. You will be responsible for researching technical accounting issues, writing technical accounting memos, and consulting with accounting policy as needed. You will need strong project management, writing, and communication skills with the ability to make the right recommendations and influence stakeholders in order to maintain a high bar for controllership.Key job responsibilities* Understand internal control design concepts to assess the effectiveness of controls and design new effective processes and controls for emerging and growing business activities.* Execute judgment and ensure the right decisions are reached to accurately report financial results.* Drive projects, provide accounting guidance and often serve as first point of contact for finance and business partners to resolve issues.* Deal with ambiguity and able to reprioritize based on multiple business needs.* Research, conclude and memorialize technical accounting position papers.* Escalate risks and issues as necessary to leadership.We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:Seattle, WA, USA- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field- CPA- Experience with revenue accounting and ASC 606- Strong sense of ownership- Technical accounting experience- Ability to dive deep to understand complex products and processes- Project management skills, including managing competing priorities- Written and verbal communication skillsOur compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $81,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
