Description

Are you highly organized and a whiz with numbers? Robert Half is seeking Accounting Clerks to assist our clients in the Salem area. The Accounting Clerk keys daily worksheets to the general ledger system, ensures files are complete and maintained as needed, handles accounts payable duties, and assists other accounting personnel. Accounting Clerks are also responsible for providing accounting support to accounting supervisors and other managers within the department.

The duties of an Accounting Clerk typically include:

Recording financial transactions in accounting software.

Verifying and reconciling invoices, receipts, and accounts payable.

Processing accounts receivable and preparing invoices for customers.

Assisting with payroll processing.

Maintaining financial records and files.

Handling bank deposits and reconciliations.

Assisting in preparing financial reports.

Responding to inquiries from clients, vendors, and employees regarding financial matters.

Assisting in tax preparation and compliance.

Following established accounting procedures and policies.

Requirements

A high school diploma or equivalent; some employers may prefer an associate's degree in accounting or a related field.

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Basic understanding of accounting principles.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively in a team.

Integrity and a strong sense of confidentiality.

Some experience in accounting or bookkeeping may be preferred but is not always required.
