We are currently looking for an Accounting Analyst III/ Sr for our Houston, TX office.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for monthly Gas Accounting close process including monthly measurement reconciliations, recording journal entries into the general ledger related to imbalances, fuel, and inventory. Analyzing fuel and providing support for the fuel trackers. Variances analysis for GAAP and FERC accounting. Responsible for balance sheet reconciliations. Position will be responsible for preparing various regulatory filing as well as supporting schedules for the 10K. Responsible for weekly, monthly, and yearly regulatory reporting.
Position interacts and coordinates activities with many internal groups including Marketing, Customer Service, Contracts, Measurement and Regulatory. Works with internal and external auditors, ensures SOX compliance and establishes and maintains associated policies and procedures. This position requires an acute attention to detail and willingness to learn.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:
Strong accounting and analysis skills
Proficient in Excel
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to multi-task
Strong attention to detail
PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:
5-10 years in Natural Gas
Experience in related accounting/analytical role
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance
PREFERRED EDUCATION:
CPA Eligible
