  Minimum Biweekly Rate of Pay : $1,530.64 bi‐weekly (In accordance with current spending restrictions, an internal promotion into the position will be filled at the minimum of the pay grade or up to 5% of the employee’s current rate, whichever is higher.)

  DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  Reconciles all Florida Accounting Information Resource System (FLAIR) operating funds to State Comptroller accounts by utilizing the in-house FLAIR application. Responsible for the monthly reconciliation for the General Revenue Fund and Trust Funds to Central FLAIR. Reconciles appropriations, receipts, cash balances and general ledger codes. Research and analyze all outstanding reconciling items and take corrective actions. Post appropriate transaction in FLAIR.

  Process expenditure moves (request logs) as assigned daily. Assist in the research and data entries in preparation of year-end financial statements. Act as the approver in FLAIR for warrants cancellation/stop payments, etc.

  Keep track of the Excel spreadsheet for request logs (expenditure moves) received in the Unit. Process request logs as assigned and provide technical assistant to Regions, Circuits, and Headquarters as needed. Assists with training the staff and providing financial information to program areas and management team.

  Responsible for the reconciliation, research and correction of the Welfare Trust fund and the reconciling items using QuickBooks. Maintain the daily/monthly reports on the shared drive for the Reporting and Reconciliation Unit. Responsible for the distribution of the monthly reports printed on the first working day of each month.

  Assist in the preparation of the year-end financial statement entries and in the review and research of internal/external auditors as requested. Assist in the year-end closing of the financial statement with the compliance checklist of the capital assets accounts.

  Pre-audits and prepare all requests as needed for the Welfare Trust Fund (WFTF). Ensures accuracy of the bank statements, QuickBooks, and Florida Accounting Information Resource (FLAIR). Process the monthly bank maintenance fee. Distributes checks to requestor for the WFTF.

  Monitors voucher audit function in FLAIR to track status of each voucher submitted to the Department of Financial Services (DFS) and communicates with voucher audit staff whenever there is a problem. Monitors account status in the accounting system. Provide Affidavit for Duplicate Warrant preparation and submission.

  Minimum Qualifications:

  Knowledge of FLAIR and the Reports Distribution System, accounting principles, practices, procedures, and State of Florida Financial Statements worksheets.

  Ability to analyze and interpret accounting data, plan, organize and coordinate work assignments, communicate effectively verbally and in writing, establish and maintain working relationships with others, utilize problem solving techniques, work independently, organize, arrange, and index documents to utilize automation methods to obtain informational reports and determine work priorities.

  SPECIAL NOTES :

If initially hired with an out-of-state license, the Florida resident must obtain a valid Florida state driver’s license within 30 days of hire. Licenses suspended or revoked for any reason, work permits (Business purpose/Employment/education only licenses) and some types of restricted licenses are not acceptable. Licenses that have Corrective Lenses Restriction are acceptable, provided the driver wears corrective lenses while operating the vehicle.
