Overview
The Chick-fil-A Tax Department is responsible for tax compliance, technology, special projects, research and audit defense functions for independently-owned franchised restaurants and corporate activities. We exist to provide tax planning, regulatory reporting and consulting to stakeholders, governments, external auditors and business leaders. The Accountant II, Federal Payroll Tax responsibilities will be to s upport the Payroll Tax Department’s Payroll Tax Compliance function by assisting with U.S. Federal, state, and local payroll tax compliance and audits for Chick-fil-A, Inc., related affiliates, and third-party franchisees . This role’s primary responsibilities are to process payroll tax payments, and process and file payroll tax returns. This role will also assist with all year-end payroll tax compliance requirements. As Chick-fil-A grows into the International market, this role will include any international responsibilities to support third-party franchisees, payroll systems and payroll tax compliance.

Responsibilities
Establish agency tax accounts and process payroll tax payments for Chick-fil-A, Inc., related affiliates, and third-party franchisees via accounts payable, state websites, and other electronic methods.
Prepare, process and file payroll tax returns for Chick-fil-A, Inc., related affiliates, and third-party franchisees in a timely manner to meet agency deadlines.
Ensure agency tax accounts are setup and process payroll tax payments for Chick-fil-A, Inc., related affiliates, and third-party franchisees via accounts payable, state websites, and other electronic methods.
Maintain unemployment rates for third-party franchisees in current systems.
Maintain proper tax calculations in current system.
Reconcile general ledger tax liability accounts and investigate account differences and issues.
Research and answer Federal, state, and local correspondence regarding payroll taxes, payments, and general account information.
Remain current of any regulatory changes on Federal, state, and local
May be responsible for calling the IRS (as a Reporting Agent) in representing Chick-fil-A, Inc., related affiliates, and third-party franchisees.
Assist with special projects and perform other additional duties upon request.
Knows and applies fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of Payroll Tax Compliance.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or Bachelor’s Degree and CPA Eligible or 3 years of Payroll Tax Compliance Experience
1-3 years of Payroll, Tax or Accounting experience
CPA
