We have an opportunity for an ambitious part qualified Accountant to join our growing Record to Report team in Budapest. This is an exciting opportunity to work in an expanding Global Business Services Centre. The successful candidate will join the Record to Report (RtR) team with primary responsibility for the monthly accounting and reporting of a number of legal entities.
What you will do:
Ensure the timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of monthly close activities
Prepare accounting entries
Evaluate entries for completeness and accuracy
Review general ledger activity, researching and correcting account discrepancies
Perform balance sheet account reconciliations, including general ledger accounts and sub ledger accounts
Research and resolve any reconciling items on a monthly basis
Perform variance analysis including current-to-prior month/quarter/year fluctuations
Management reporting to Thermo Fisher Group through Hyperion
Coordinating accounting entries with other departments and accounting system modules
Preparation of Annual Operating Plans (AOP) and budgets
Preparation of monthly and annual intercompany recharge requests and management recharges
Ensuring compliance with Corporate Accounting policies, procedures and controls (Sarbanes-Oxley Act)
Who we are looking for:
Experience of month end reporting, management accounting & balance sheet reconciliations
Highly motivated and detail oriented individual with excellent communication, computer and organisational skills
Ability to prioritise and follow through in a fast-paced, multitask environment
Ability to work well under time constraints
Fully proficient in MS Excel
A working knowledge of ERPs (E1 or SAP) would is desirable – but not essential
