Description We are providing a unique opportunity in Middleton, Wisconsin, for an Accountant who specializes in Accounts Payable and Receivable. This role is a part of our finance department and is a contract position that entails administering key accounting functions, including accounts payable and receivable, cash monitoring, and financial reporting. You will work closely with other departments to ensure all accounting implications are understood and resolved.
Responsibilities:
• Administer the accounts payable business processes, including matching goods/invoice receipts, coding and posting of approved purchases and administrative expenses, and reconciling expense reports.
• Process payments and assist in the daily cash monitoring.
• Liaise with business partners in other departments to research and conclude on purchasing discrepancies or non-routine transactions.
• Provide support in the administration of capital projects and general accounting tasks.
• Oversee the application of cash receipts to customer accounts and assist with billings. Monitor customer credit limits and receivables aging.
• Contact customers regarding accounts past due for payment.
• Assist in the monthly and annual close financial reporting process by preparing journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, and analysis of accounts.
• Support the Controller in the analysis of inventory and cost accounting. Process accounting adjustments and perform updates to financial reporting packages.
• Undertake other duties as assigned, which may include special projects and cross-functional finance support.
• Proficient in Accounting Software Systems, ADP - Financial Services, ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning, ERP Solutions, Great Plains (GPAC), Accounting Functions, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Auditing, and Budget Processes.
