  Tiger Mowers is currently accepting applications to fill the position of Accountant at its Headquarters in Sioux Falls, SD.

  Under general direction the Accountant, actively participates in the month end closing process, pulling reports and schedules, and preparing some of the inventory and costing journal entries and reconciling accounts.

  Essential Functions of the Job:

  Participate in the month end close process, pulling reports and schedules, and preparing some of the inventory and costing journal entries and reconciling accounts.

  Reconciles and balances general ledger accounts as requested.

  Assists in the review of monthly financial statement records to ensure accuracy of information.

  Provides technical assistance and advice to company personnel to ensure smooth and efficient day-to-day operations regarding accounting related matters.

  Assists with departmental questions regarding accounts and budgets.

  Assists with audit preparation, budget preparation, improvements to accounting system and questions from affiliates.

  Maintain and match up the files of invoices received through email and mail, with packing lists.

  Review personal P.O. invoices – code, if possible, add vendor codes and forward them to appropriate people.

  Review credit card invoices for receipts then code and forward them for approval. Review utilities/phone bills then code and forward for approval.

  Review freight bills for proper carrier used, contact vendor if they are using the wrong carrier. Attach delivery receipts then code and forward for approval.

  Perform monthly sales tax reporting. This will include reviewing sales tax exemption certificates, making sure they are valid. Scan into Avalara and complete set-up as tax exempt. Review all reports prior to submission.

  Review sales documents for proper revenue recognition.

  Additional duties as assigned.

  Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  Ability to read, analyze and interpret common financial reports and legal documents.

  Ability to respond to common inquiries from regulatory agencies.

  Ability to write reports and business correspondence.

  Ability to effectively present information to company employees and management.

  Able to multi-task with the ability to take on additional project assignments without sacrificing accuracy and timeliness of foundation.

  Exceptional computer skills with a command knowledge of all software programs used by the organization (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and JD Edwards financial software).

  Must be a team player and proactively jump in and help the financial team on whatever it takes.

  Exceptional Excel, QuickBooks reporting abilities.

  Education and Experience:

  Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Accounting or Finance required.

  3+ yeas accounting experience required.

  CPA or equivalent preferred.

  Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus. The employee will spend time in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing production environment overseeing the human resources’ function. The employee must be able to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.

  This is an on-site position; it is not remote.
