THE MISSION:The Accountant is responsible for accurately reporting financial data to stakeholders by maintaining the general ledger, accounts payable functions and preparing monthly financial statements for the Company.
SUMMARY ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES: *Financial statement preparation. *Maintenance of company cash accounts. *Accurate financial and regulatory reporting. *Assist in budgeting and forecasting.*May include: Payroll administration & Company insurance management.
JOB DUTIES:Create, post, and review entries to the general ledger and account payable systems. Complete monthly financials accurately, including but not limited to:Reconcile and book monthly customer billing.Compute and check journal entries for accuracy. Manage accounts receivable from misc. billing (i.e.: CABS, COBRA, etc.).Complete items for company auditors.Manage accounts payable and weekly check processing.Processes various functions of payroll duties as required. Manage company bank accounts: including daily cash reports and monthly reconciliation of bank statements.Handle audits and/or complete necessary data requests as needed (including but not limited to sales tax audits, NECA reviews, etc.).Complete and file various tax returns, including but not limited to sales, excise, etc.Prepare annual budgets and forecasts.Handle various agencies and management reports.Complete E-rate and USAC reports for customers as requested.Assist with managing company insurance policies.Other misc. items & special projects as requested.Assist with new processes and system implementation as required.Miscellaneous administrative duties to include: filing, preparing reports for various departments and creating spreadsheets for various purposes.Adheres to internal control policies and maintains confidentiality of all records within the accounting function.
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree with concentration in Accounting preferred/or Associate degree with at least two years of accounting experience.Must be proficient with Excel.Strong attention to detail, analytical and communication skills.Must be able to meet deadlines, overtime as required.
PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:Telecommunications experience helpful
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:A valid driver's license or ability to access transportation to attend work group and organization meetings is necessary.
