This position is responsible for handling the tax filings and portfolio investments of the firm. Requires knowledge of a wide range of tax areas and processes, as well as the ability to develop strategic outcomes to complex tax issues.
Key Responsibilities
Reviews complex individual, trust, partnership, not-for-profit, S corporate, C Corporate, and foreign tax returns; assists in client management and practice development activities.Leads all tax planning, executing, directing, and completion of tax projects.Manages the vendors for outsourced tax functions.Reviews tax returns prepared by outsourced CPA vendors and makes recommendations on return preparation regarding changes, accuracy, and tax savings opportunities; gains increasing responsibility in review process.Researches and consults on various tax matters; utilizes tax-related software to prepare and process returns.Responds to inquiries from the IRS, state, and other tax authorities.Performs other accounting job duties, as this position will not focus solely on taxation.Requirements
Bachelor's degree in accounting, taxation, finance, or a related discipline.4+ years of accounting andtax experience within a professional services environment.Extensive knowledge in a broad range of partnership tax technical and transaction skills, including partnership taxation, real estate taxation and qualification, partnership allocations, tax compliance, acquisition/disposition planning and structuring.Experience managing budgets, people, and multiple projects.Solid track record of excellence in a professional services or tax organization.Technical writing and research experience in a tax context.Strong ability to prioritize when working on multiple complex projects.Strong influencing skills, and the confidence to question existing processes.Must have the ability to self-direct work and exercise independent judgment to formulate and implement solutions.The primary work location will be on-site at the Trinity Investors office in Southlake,Texas.
