About Accessibility Specialist

  STV has an opportunity for an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) /Accessibility Specialist for the physical built environment in our ColoradoSprings, CO office location. This position is an excellent careeropportunity for a beginner to mid-level candidate to bring their accessibilityexpertise and passion to a multi-disciplined team and grow the accessibilityline of services. Experienced Construction, Surveyor, Accessibility, andCode Inspectors are encouraged to apply.

  ResponsibilitiesEngaging with clients on a variety of accessibility related projects.Coordinating and collaborating with our team of in-house accessibilityexperts, multidisciplinary engineers and specialty consultants.Performing accessibility compliance inspections of the built environment oncommercial and/or government projects.Using various data collection techniques to capture and analyze existingconditions for compliance with ADA standards and guidelines.Supporting plan review services during the design phases of a project, fromschematic design through construction documents.Supporting data analysis and technical report writing efforts.Collaborating with building owners, developers, architects, engineers,contractors, and clients on a variety of projects.Assisting to develop new business and client accounts through businessdevelopment engagement and activities.Supporting and collaborating with the accessibility consultant group withprojects locally and in other regions.Developing and providing training packages or educational presentations toin-house staff on accessibility related topics.Working within a variety of market sectors including areas such asgovernment, higher education, senior living, housing, publichousing, tech, transient lodging, public rights-of-way, outdoordeveloped areas and others.

  QualificationsAssociate's degree or higher in Architecture, Engineering, or related field.At least 1-5 years of experience in inspecting, accessibility, codecompliance, or architecture.A combination of work experience and/or education is also acceptable.Current knowledge with applicable regulations pertaining to the Americans withDisabilities (ADA) , Title 24, Fair Housing Act, the InternationalBuilding Code (IBC) Chapter 11, ICC A117.1, the Architectural BarriersAct (ABA), and other state specific building codes or standards is verydesirableExcellent communication skills.Experience with Survey123, ArcGIS, ESRI, or other data collectiontechnologies.Travel required (Up to 50%).Ability to perform visual site reviews at construction sites, includingclimbing steps, bending, walking up to 10 miles a week, and standing forprolonged periods.Preferred certifications include: ICC-certified Accessibility Inspector andPlans Examiner or Registered Accessibility Specialist (RAS)certification, or other state recognized accessibility certifications.Ability to work with and lead data collection efforts while also collaboratingwith various teams on a variety of projects and tasks.

  Compensation Range:$38,927.00 - $51,903.00
