  LOCATION : 2 Broadway New York, NY 10004

  HOURS OF WORK: 9:00am - 5:30pm (7 1/2 hours/day)

  This position is eligible for telework which is currently one day per week. New hires are eligible to apply 30 days after their effective date of hire.

  SUMMARY :

  MTA was awarded $2M from USDOT for the FY22 SMART Grant. Through this Grant, MTA Accessibility will be collaborating with departments across the MTA to implement the NaviLens wayfinding, information, and language translation app. This position is responsible to manage station surveys, data maintenance, and implementation needs. This includes a successful and complete implementation of the work described in the SMART Grant, as well as identification and analysis of data strategies and efficiencies for a full systemwide rollout in a Stage II of the SMART Grant.

  RESPONSIBILITIES :

  Report directly to Senior Analyst, Systemwide Accessibility on the execution of the FY22 USDOT SMART Grant, collaborate to ensure goals and checkpoints are met and successful. Help create and maintain implementation plan and schedule as much as possible.

  Coordinate with NaviLens team, MTA departments and external partners to identify, test, and execute ways to increase efficiencies in implementing NaviLens.

  Coordinate user testing and feedback collection to identify and confirm best practices for NaviLens at the MTA.

  Manage tracking and organization for implementation of NaviLens codes on bus stops and buses along the Bx12 bus route.

  Manage tracking and organization of implementation plans for 38 stations along the #6 subway line.

  Create, formalize, and finalize NaviLens MTA Implementation Guide.

  Other duties as assigned.

  QUALIFICATIONS:

  Must have knowledge of and/or experience with adaptive technologies for people with disabilities.

  Must have knowledge of and/or experience with database management.

  Proficiency in communication and interpersonal skills.

  Proficiency in learn organizational and presentation skills.

  Proficiency in working with all internal levels within a given organization.

  Ability to communicate and interact well with external agencies.

  Ability to complete short- and long-term projects effectively and as efficiently as possible.

  Proficiency in and/or ability to learn analytical and/or quantitative skills.

  Demonstrated proficiency in or ability to learn the Microsoft Office Suite or comparable applications, i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  May need to work outside of normal work hours (i.e., evenings and weekends).

  Travel may be required to other MTA locations or other external sites.

  EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :

  REQUIRED:

  Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Transportation, Accessibility/Disability Studies, Public Policy or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience from an accredited college may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  PREFERRED:

  Master’s degree in a related field.

  Familiarity with the MTA’s policies and procedures.

  Familiarity with the MTA’s collective bargaining procedures.
