Position Overview: The 988 Program Coordinator (NYC 988) oversees all of the day-to-day operations related to the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline contacts routed to the NYC 988 including oversight, training, quality improvement, data reporting and other areas important to crisis contact center operations. In certain situations, there may be direct crisis counseling, assessment and follow up responsibilities for individuals who have reached out through the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. This position will work with the 988 Program Manager (NYC 988) to coordinate operations to ensure program objectives are met and/or exceeded.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Work with the 988 Program Manager (NYC 988) to coordinate contact center activities for the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline to ensure that goals and objectives are achieved as per contract guidelines and timeframe.
In conjunction with the 988 Program Manager (NYC 988), maintain and coordinate the policies, procedures and workflow related to 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline contacts handled by NYC 988, including attending meetings with relevant stakeholders.
Assist in monitoring 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline interactions in order to ensure a comprehensive Quality Improvement program.
Assist training department to ensure appropriate training for new and existing call center staff answering 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline contacts.
Ensure contact center is apprised of events pertinent to the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline including media promotion and 988 developments.
Complete monthly and ad hoc data reports for the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.
Act as a clinical resource for call center staff in the event they require clinical consultation regarding a specific case or imminent risk situation.
Work in conjunction with the 988 Program Manager (NYC 988) on special projects as they arise.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Crisis intervention experience, preferably in a contact center setting.
Strong crisis counseling skills as it relates to performing risk assessments.
Training, supervisory and/or quality improvement related experience preferable.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Courteous and professional manner.
Detailed documentation.
Effective time management, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work well in a high-pressure and fast-paced environment.
Supervisory experience preferred.
Proficient in navigating call center computer programs with training provided.
Experience working with culturally diverse populations.
Flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment is required.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field is required.
Master’s degree in required field is preferred.
