The 3rd shift Maintenance Technican will be responsible for all maintenance applications predictive & preventative, heavy machine repair for plant operations which include Cold Nut Former, Press, and Tool Room lines, secondary equipment and general building maintenance. Training would be on 1st shift. Candidates must have a 2-year technical degree or 8 years equivalent experience of troubleshooting skills and maintenance associated with heavy industrial machinery. Candidates will be responsible for working with purchasing for parts ordering and the implementation of new ideas to cut costs involved with machine repairs, including development of critical spare parts lists to insure minimum machine down time. Candidates will be responsible for the qualification of all repairs, prior to production and maintaining a clean, safe and organized workplace.
What are some of the things you will do?
Install, maintain, and repair manufacturing equipment.
Ability to safely troubleshoot and perform advanced electrical repairs. Complete in depth preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on various types of equipment.
Mechanical installation and troubleshooting of oil lubrication, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems including piping. Install, design, troubleshoot, and set existing parameters and troubleshoot variable drive systems.
Entering hours, repair details into Bigfoot to maintain the database.
Train employee’s the skills required to repair manufacturing equipment and electrical controls. Continuous improvement in reduction of unplanned downtime
Determine to make or buy repair parts then work with outside vendors to source identified components. Identification of cost reduction ideas that will help maintain plant MRO budgets
Operates/maintains machine shop equipment, hand tools, measuring, and diagnostic equipment. Operate tool room equipment as it pertains to maintenance required. Ability to read machinery and tooling blue printed as required.
Utilize inspection equipment and gauges used in maintenance as required (Calipers, Micrometers, Dial indicators and feeler gages)
Follow company safety guidelines.
Fabrication of guards, fixtures, and other types of structures. Work with the engineering team to design and install specialized equipment.
Performs preventive / predictive maintenance as required.
Maintains a clean, orderly work area
All other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Required:
2-year technical degree or 8 years equivalent experience of heavy machine repair, maintenance, and the preventive / predictive maintenance of electro – pneumatic – mechanical machines and systems in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Ability to use and understand various precision measuring tools.
Strong math skills.
Proficient use of all tools associated with the testing, installation, troubleshooting, and the repair of electro – pneumatic – mechanical machines and systems.
Must be able to read machinery and tooling blue prints and electrical. Demonstrated project management for Continuous Improvement initiatives. Uses multiple techniques to rebuild equipment to OEM specifications. Proficient with electrical panel components and ability to diagnose electrical circuits
Proficient in Arc, MIG, and TIG welding. Knowledge of plant piping layout (Gas, Air, Water).
Understanding of the manufacturing process and OEE machine requirements as they pertain to the maintenance function. Proficient with rebuilding manufacturing equipment with minimal supervision
Must possess fork truck certification.
