　　Chicago Transit Authority is the second largest transit system in the country! Our college internship program offers summer and year-long internships that provide students with valuable work experience, professional development, and mentorship. Students receive exposure to the discipline of the workplace and are guided by subject matter experts who assist them in acquiring the skills, knowledge, and experience needed to perform in today’s technically demanding careers. Interns at CTA work in a range of departments across the authority.

　　Our internships are project-based; therefore, the skills that we seek vary based on the needs of the projects during each term. All majors are welcome to apply, but please see education experience/requirements for specifics about what disciplines each internship project is seeking.

　　Internships are part-time (15 hours a week) during the school year and full-time (40 hours a week) during the summer.

　　In this role within the Purchasing department’s Records Center unit, interns will:

　　Develop SharePoint solutions and workflows to automate key Records Center processes within a robust records database.

　　Verify and reconcile data, conduct user testing, and finalize workflows for CTA user groups.

　　Work with user departments and stakeholders to resolve problems and acquire information required to conduct department activities.

　　Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.

　　Primary work location for this role: CTA Material Distribution Center (901 W. Division Street, Chicago Illinois 60642)

　　Qualifications

　　Educational Experience/Requirements:

　　Preferred Major(s): Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems

　　Preferred Level of Education: College senior and above

　　Required enrollment status: Full-time (as defined by your academic institution) in a degree program at an accredited college or university

　　Physical Requirements:

　　The demands associated with the normal office environment

　　Must be able to comply with office policy to work on-site twice per week

　　Light physical activity, including walking outdoors and climbing stairs

　　Perform duties assigned on-site in a warehouse environment

　　Ability to work between the warehouse hours of operation (6:00am-2:30pm)

　　Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

　　Strong Microsoft Office and computer skills

　　Good oral and written communication skills

　　Good analytical and critical thinking skills

　　Good organizational skills with attention to detail

　　Good project management skills

　　General understanding of server-side (C#) and client-side (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) code languages

　　General knowledge of Microsoft technologies (Microsoft/Office 365, SharePoint workflow/forms, and the Power tools such as Power Apps, Flow and Power BI)

　　Experience with programs such as SQL, Azure, Rest API, and JQuery

　　Knowledge of data management queries/reports

　　Additional Details: Final salary will be determined in part by the qualifications of the selected candidate and may be higher or lower than target.
