Department and team-focused projectsaccount for about 80% of your schedule. You'll spend the other 20% onprofessional development sessions and networking activities, including theKickoff Conference on May 29, webinars, community service,cross-functional project, and final presentations.
Internship responsibilities may include:As a member of the Security Operations team, the intern will be responsiblefor assisting the Vulnerability and Remediation team with various aspects oftheir roles. This position is responsible for evolving, expanding andoperating the Spectrum Vulnerability Scanning activities in the VulnerabilityManagement team.Assists in the development and documentation of technical standards andimplements approved methods of procedure.Ensures compliance with security standards, policies and procedures in allduties. Adheres to industry specific local, state, and federalregulations, as applicable.Assists with vulnerability identification, scanning, reporting andremediation tracking.Be able to analyze the results of Vulnerability Scans, understand theresults, and eliminate false positives.Communicate Vulnerability information with stakeholders and securitymanagement.Monitoring of responses and remediation effortsAssists with development and validation of Standard Operating ProceduresResponsible for assisting teams in interpreting and applying network securitypolicies and standards to mitigate security risks.Applies web application-level security concepts to the Software DevelopmentLife Cycle (SDLC)Creates remediation strategies with asset owners to resolve and communicatebusiness risks associated with vulnerabilities to leadership.Reviews remediation work plans and designs; advises on improvements based onsecurity requirements.
