The School Health Aide works with students who require instructional, environmental/classroom, and personal care support. The School Health Aide provides these services under the supervision of the school Special Education Director and/or supervising designee.

　　Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

　　Assists student(s) (one on one or as a general classroom aide) in the development of independent skills through self-care/personal care activities such as toileting, dressing and personal hygiene maintenance

　　Assists student(s), one on one or as a classroom aide, with meeting objectives/goals as stated in their IEP including goals related to math, reading, speech, and independent skills

　　Facilitates teacher-directed learning activities that involve lesson plans, worksheets, reinforcement systems, small groups, social games, work assistance, etc.

　　Assists student(s) in the general education class setting as appropriate and directed

　　Communicates pertinent information to teachers and/or designated school clinician

　　Communicates changes in students’ health condition to teachers and/or designated school clinician

　　Accompanies student(s) to, from and during recess, lunch and community experiences/outings

　　Strictly adheres to confidentiality requirements regarding all matters pertaining to students, parents, parent communications, and/or classroom activities. (Note: Unless instructed otherwise by supervising teacher, all parent communication is the responsibility of school personnel)

　　Assists student(s) with prescribed program activities including those written/recommended by School PT, OT and SLP personnel

　　Assists with student behavior management, if/when requested and as directed by the teacher and/or other school professional

　　Assists teacher with clerical duties including the making of stimuli copies, and other material, maintaining a clean and organized classroom, and scoring of student assignments

　　Performs other duties as assigned/necessary

　　Minimum Requirements:

　　Must be 18 years of age or older

　　High School Diploma or equivalent required

　　Experience acting as a Home Health Aide, Certified Nursing Assistant preferred

　　Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills preferred

　　Computer proficiency preferred

　　Successful completion of background screening and onboarding process required

　　Successful completion of Maxim Orientation and Compliance training, and all other assigned trainings as applicable required

　　Successful completion of Maxim’s Competency Program required

　　Must meet all federal, state, local and contract requirements

　　Proficiency in the English language required

　　Current certificate as applicable per state and / or client requirement
