The Architecture and Software Platform group is responsible for the software platform that enables connectivity and advanced application features within next generation Ford vehicles.

　　Are you passionate about transforming the automotive industry and shifting Ford into the paradigm of the Software Defined Vehicle? Ford is looking for Vehicle Software Architects with embedded software experience and an understanding of good software design principles. Vehicle Software Architects will lead the creation of the vehicle software architecture enabling Ford to deliver customer features.

　　RESPONSIBILITIES

　　What you'll do..

　　the creation, maintenance, and release of the Ford software platform architecture. Partition the technology layer functions and interfaces to support reusability, flexibility, maintainability, and modularization of vehicle software architecture. Manage software component deployment to electronic modules with internal and external partners. Create and manage vehicle control service APIs (Application Protocol Interface) through the API development lifecycle. Release the architecture description, views, and APIs of the vehicle software platform for end users and applications. Govern the software platform interfaces by participating in cross-functional team discussions to ensure alignment with various partners. Collaborate with various internal partners for continuous improvement of the architecture release process and deliverables. Support the definition of interfaces that influence communication data for different in-vehicle automotive networks including CAN, LIN, and Ethernet

　　QUALIFICATIONS

　　You'll have...

　　Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Computer Science 5+ years of work experience in software design and development for service-oriented architectures, ideally using Embedded C, C++, or Python. 2+ years of creating high-level software systems architecture/design or designing software APIs.

　　Even better, you may have...

　　Master of Science in Computer, Software, Systems, or Electrical Engineering OR Computer Science Advanced knowledge and application of service-oriented design principles. Work experience in creating architectural trade-off analyses. Automotive Systems or AUTOSAR application layer design experience. Developing automation using Python programming language. Knowledge and application of Clean Code principles. Experience with software refactoring and avoiding code smells
