Job Summary:
Reporting to the Executive Director Regional Clinical Services, The Pharmacy Supply Chain Manager oversees the full pharmacy department supply chain from contracting, acquisition, storage, transfer, inventory and financial reconciliation. Positions reporting to Manager of Pharmacy Supply Chain - Pharmacy Warehouse Supervisor, Pharmacy Clinic Drug Coordinator, Pharmacy Purchasing Coordinator.
Essential Responsibilities:
Oversees the day to day operations of the Pharmacy Distribution teams to include: Outpatient Pharmacy Drugs, Office Based Pharmaceuticals (OBP), Over the Counter Products (OTC), and Durable Medical Equipment (DME). Includes team development, coaching, mentoring and communication.
Strategically works to optimize all product flows across pharmacy operations within the Outpatient Pharmacy and in all drug storage environments within the clinics. Uses par level optimization and other tools to assure DrUM is efficient and cost effective.
Works with the Pharmacy and Therapeutics committee (P&T) to create standards for Commercial and Medicare formularies across all drug/ product channels (OP Pharmacy, OBP, OTC) - Assures that all lines of products are synchronized across systems -Central Product Database (CPD), Local Product Database (LPDB), Automated Dispensing Systems, KPHC, MCPS or ePIMS.
Works with the Pharmacy Leadership Team to align supply chain strategies with departmental strategies including Operations, Clinical, Regulatory, Benefits, Systems, Financial and Training to assure successful implementation and tracking of initiatives.
Works with National Supply Chain team to leverage opportunities for standardized processes and strategies for acquisition of products as well as management of supply shortages.
Assures compliance to all regulatory rules and regulations specific to: U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). State Boards of Pharmacy. HIPAA. Principles of Responsibility. Sarbanes-Oxley & Medicare. Proper use of Kaiser Permanente personal computers and applications.
Basic Qualifications:
Experience
Minimum five (5) years of experience in supervisory or management role.
Minimum three (3) years of experience in pharmacy operations management.
Education
Graduate of accredited school of pharmacy required.
License, Certification, Registration
Pharmacist License (Maryland) OR Pharmacist License (Virginia) OR Pharmacist License (District of Columbia)
Additional Requirements:
Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills to work with internal and external customers.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with coordinating purchasing, distribution, inventory reconciliation preferred.
Masters degree in business, health care administration or related field preferred.
