  This role will be based in Sunnyvale, CA.

  Team Information:

  The Flagship Data Science Tech Foundation team builds data applications that drive innovation and productivity. Our work provides a rigorous engineering foundation for novel, state of the art data science methodologies and amplifies their impact by enabling greater scalability, wider availability and faster iterations.

  Responsibilities:

  ● Lead the architecture and design of both front-end and back-end for novel data applications.

  ● Lead application development efforts, working with a world class team of data scientists and software engineers, building tools that provide innovative insights to business units across LinkedIn.

  ● Collaborate with product managers and technical teams to iterate and enhance current applications and features.

  ● Building tools to scale observational causal inference to quantify the impact of optimizing an input metric toward a business outcome, or estimate the impact of brand marketing campaigns.

  ● Provide hands-on contributions to coding efforts.

  ● Contribute to engineering innovations that fuel LinkedIn’s vision and mission.

  Basic Qualifications:

  ● Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative discipline: Computer Science, Statistics, Operations Research, Informatics, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, etc.

  ● 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering

  ● 4+ years of experience coding using an object-oriented programming language such as Java or Python.

  Preferred Qualifications:

  ● 2+ years of experience leading and mentoring other engineers as a Senior Engineer and/or Technical Lead.

  ● BS and 8+ years of relevant work experience, MS and 7+ years of relevant work experience, or PhD and 5+ years of relevant work experience.

  ● Experience building APIs with modern frameworks (Spring/Flask).

  ● Full-stack software engineering capabilities, including development using query languages (SQL/NoSQL) and modern front-end frameworks (React, etc.)

  The pay range for this role is $144,000 to $235,000. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
