Overview

　　The Smart Restaurant Team, within the Production Design engineering organization, creates data-driven systems to improve production in our restaurants. As our production equipment becomes smarter and more connected, we have the opportunity to use its data to improve how we manage production at the restaurant level.

　　We are looking for an individual who is interested in designing, developing, and prototyping the future of production and conveyance systems for Chick-fil-A restaurants. This role also includes working cross-functionally with organizational partners to validate and launch production systems and ensuring our systems remain up to date as processes, equipment, and menu items change. This role will be responsible for communicating and collaborating with stakeholders across our organization, influencing them to understand the value of the work. This role may also include selecting or overseeing external partnerships to achieve these goals.

　　Success in this role will require someone who has strong industrial and systems engineering capabilities and proficiency in working cross-functionally with technical engineering teams and software development teams. The main goals of this role are to develop and improve integrated production, information, and conveyance systems in our restaurants in order to increase our capacity, reduce Team Member complexity, and add business value to Chick-fil-A. While working inside of the Smart Restaurant Team strategy, this role will require the expertise to work with a wide latitude for independent direction and decision making freedom to determine how best to accomplish these goals.

　　This role will be expected to plan and direct work independently and provide technical leadership and consultation to co-workers. This role is also expected to be an influencer within Chick-fil-A, helping to inform and influence work across the organization through their expertise and meaningful working relationships.

　　 Responsibilities

　　Identify needed sources of data to improve the current state of production and conveyance decision making in restaurants Develop any needed sources of data from streams such as IoT equipment sensors, camera vision, voice, etc. Create new production and conveyance management systems to improve restaurant production decision making Improve existing production and conveyance systems and ensure they are up to date Assist in developing measures/targets to evaluate the performance of production and conveyance systems Assist in creating and maintaining data collection specifications for existing and new IOT-connected equipment Provide technical leadership and assistance to internal and external partners Serve as a subject matter expert for restaurant production systems across the organization Clarify and improve our production management and conveyance strategy

　　 Minimum Qualifications

　　Bachelor's Degree 5 years of professional work experience Broad knowledge of systems engineering solutions for driving production and conveyance systems Excellent communication skills -- ability to present complex information in a concise and compelling manner

　　 Preferred Qualifications

　　Master's Degree Experience with MQTT message protocols, APIs and JSON formatted files Experience with data from internet-connected (IoT) devices or Manufacturing Execution System (MES) connected equipment Experience with planning and implementing data architecture, database development and management, and data analysis Experience in business process design and leading multiple large program or project implementations within a large, global company
