  The Team:

  Global Markets Operations (GMO) delivers end-to-end support for Global Markets sales, trading businesses, and certain shared services across securities, derivatives, foreign exchange, futures, options and commodities products for Corporate Treasury, Corporate Investment Portfolio and Global Wealth & Investment Management. GMO Risk & Control is aligned to provide a centralized risk model driving consistency through an end-to-end horizontal risk management and oversight function, as well as dedicated risk expertise to support the lines of business and regions.

  Job Description:

  This role is to primarily to provide Ops Risk & Control (OR&C) support for Global Equity Operations. Working in a global team, and in close partnership with the global LOB leads, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing an independent assessment of control and risk issues for Global Equity Operations Leadership team, Equities business & outside Risk organizations. In doing so, the candidate will need to be able to understand and articulate complex global business processes to help ensure responses to external queries are a complete and accurate representation of Global Equity Operations. The candidate will need to be a highly effective partner with the LOB to ensure that external queries are addressed within often tight deadlines.

  Responsibilities:

  Act as a day-to-day Risk Analyst for Global Equity Operations team.

  Perform independent risk assessments based on key risk and environmental risk. Set risk appetite and risk scoring. Present findings and opinions to senior management.

  Assist the LOB with development or enhancement of control policies and procedures.

  Assist LOB in developing self-identified audit issue plans and coordination of tollgates with Corporate Audit and COO team. Provide independent validation of evidence & issue closure.

  Assist the LOB with documenting and reporting Ops Losses and near miss data. Understand root cause, make recommendations for improvements to operational processes and facilitate any changes. Present & obtain approval from Operational Risk.

  Present regular program updates to stakeholders & attend monthly Global Equities Risk forum.

  Collate SPI control documentation from the LOB (process maps, business self-assessment, etc.) throughout the year, as process/controls/staffing changes occur.

  Required Skills:

  Experience in Risk, Compliance or Audit

  Organizational, planning, communication (written and oral), and presentation skills with attention to detail

  Excellent project management skills

  Self-starter with the ability to influence, build trusted relationships, deal constructively with conflict, problem solve / troubleshoot issues for themselves and others, and adapt to a fast-paced environment involving multiple and simultaneous deliverables

  Desired Skills:

  Broad exposure to the front to back processes across Global Markets Operations an advantage

  Proven experience in drafting communications and presentation materials intended for senior audiences is essential

  Enterprise Role Overview:

  Provide analytical support in executing internal control discipline and operational excellence within a LOB/ECF. Gather and organize data in order to monitor and test the effectiveness of key controls and status of mitigation and action plans. Prepare documentation for the tracking, monitoring, and escalation of risk related issues to management. Acts as an ambassador of the risk culture. Incumbents typically have over 5+ years of risk management and/or LOB/ECF experience. May manage staff.
