About the Role
We are looking to bolster our worldwide audio-visual services with a Sr. AV Engineer. With a vast infrastructure spanning 300+ offices and encompassing over 2,700 conference rooms andniched spaces, we are on a quest for innovation-driven professionals. What you will do
Design & Implementation: Own the design, consultation, and implementation of video conference rooms across all global Uber sites with a focus on Europe, Middle East, and Africa.Specialty Space Oversight: Provide knowledge for spaces such as training rooms, event venues, video walls, and other conferencing solutions.AV Management: Ensure the design, maintenance, and optimal utilization of A/V equipment across all Uber's spaces. This includes supervising installations and planning for technological upgrades.Vendor & Stakeholder Liaison: Lead AV service providers to guarantee project delivery and support. Forge positive relationships with key internal teams like Workplace, Builds, and Executive Leadership to determine service needs and delivery.Training & Documentation: Offer comprehensive training and materials on AV technologies, ensuring all users are proficient and confident in their use.Monitoring & Improvement: Lead all aspects of video conference infrastructure capacity and usage. Constantly seek and recommend enhancements to the audio/video conferencing services provided to Uber's global audience.Technical Leadership: Stay updated with industry standards in AV system design and integration, ensuring Uber remains at the forefront of technological advancements.
Basic Qualifications
5-7+ years of audio-visual engineering experience, particularly in a high-tech corporate environment.Proficiency in control/DSP programming, specifically with platforms like Crestron and Biamp.Deep understanding of Zoom's platform and applicable Zoom Room hardware.Proficiency in office environmental factors, such as lighting and acoustics.A solid background in R&D, showcasing an ability to discover and integrate novel solutions and platforms.Proven experience ensuring venues are fully equipped and tested with the required A/V technologies.Extensive knowledge of conferencing technologies, digital signage, and wayfinding strategies.Strong leadership skills paired with outstanding communication and organizational abilities.A minimum of 3 years in project management, ideally in handling both small-scale and major audio-visual projects.
