Description
We are in search of a Sr. Accountant to join our team in Andover, Massachusetts. This role is centered around sales and use tax and requires a strong understanding of multi-state tax regulations. It offers a short term contract employment opportunity, where you will be performing various tasks including tax reconciliations, research, reporting, and analysis.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct detailed research on sales and use tax regulations across multiple states
• Carry out monthly and quarterly sales and use tax filing for various states
• Review and analyze monthly sales files for accuracy and compliance
• Assist in maintaining subsidiary company books through General Ledger work
• Understand and comply with sales filing requirements across different states
• Leverage skills in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations
• Utilize Microsoft Excel for maintaining and updating records
• Conduct Month End Close activities ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Use accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP for various accounting tasks
• Contribute to the team's understanding of Tax - Sales Use laws and regulations.
Requirements • Possession of a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Prior work experience in a senior accounting role is essential.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
• Experience with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP is required.
• Demonstrated skills in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations.
• Familiarity with General Ledger management and Journal Entries.
• Capability to handle Month End Close procedures.
• Knowledge of 'Sales Use' Tax laws and applications.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
• Ability to respect and maintain confidential information.
