Description
Our client is a publicly traded Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) in Washington, DC. They are seeking a talented Senior Accountant specialized in Financial Reporting to join the team. What You’ll Do
Generate and examine SEC filing schedules as well as quarterly and annual financial statements in adherence with GAAP and SEC directives.
Create internal management reports.
Research intricate accounting issues and provide informed advisements to internal associates aligning with accounting standards.
Requirements
Essential Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. A Master’s degree and/or CPA credentials are a big plus.
A minimum of 4 years' experience in financial reporting, specifically, SEC reporting for public firms.
An in-depth understanding of GAAP and SEC norms.
Exceptional verbal and written communication, effective at all levels.
Demonstrable organizational skills with the ability to effectively multi-task, prioritize under pressure and maintain impeccable attention to detail.
A knack for problem-solving, good judgment, robust ethics, and a sense of humor.
Experience with MS Office and familiarity with SEC Filing & Reporting Software (ideally ActiveDisclosure) and General Ledger Software (ideally Yardi).
