About Software Development Engineer, Digital Royalties & Payments, Digital Acceleration

  Description

  Interested in solving hard technical problems that have a direct impact on our business and customers? We are looking for a talented Software Development Engineer to join the Digital Royalties and Vendor Payments team. We are a part of the Digital Acceleration org that enables Digital businesses like Prime Video, Books, Music, Appstore, Audible and Games to launch new business lines and products. We are building next generation Royalties and Vendor Payment solutions that will enable Amazon Digital businesses to automate royalty calculation, payment and accounting processes while meeting regulatory requirements. This is a great opportunity to tackle some very interesting and complex architectural problems, innovate in the space and drive product direction. You will work with a team of passionate software engineers and will get an opportunity to learn from experienced technical leaders.

  A successful candidate will have an extensive background in building highly scalable, highly available services, strong technical skills, a motivation to achieve results in a fast paced environment, high creativity, and great analytical reasoning skills.   A day in the life

  In this role, you will:

  Work as a technical leader within the team, owning an important track in the new program

  Independently define the architecture for an important track in the Next Gen financial automation program and will develop multiple new services

  Influence the technical direction of other teams, both within the Digital Acceleration organization and in partner businesses

  Work with state of the art technologies in the AWS, Big Data and Open Source spaces and sometimes even build your own

  We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

  Vancouver, BC, CAN

  Basic Qualifications

  2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  Experience programming with at least one software programming language

  Preferred Qualifications

  2+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

  The base salary for this position ranges from $114,800/year up to $191,800/year. Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
