About the Role:
Senior Network Engineer develops and implements all aspects of the architecture and deployment of network elements in support of new service offerings, new customer orders, and overall network health. Building and managing Horizon's large-scale carrier Ethernet network and troubleshooting complex customer issues will be the focus of this role.

Take the lead in designing and deploying end-to-end network solutions to ensure scale, cost efficiency, and high availability (99.999%)Oversee the design, provisioning, and implementation of complex multi-location customer Internet & Ethernet based services (Layer 2 and Layer 3)Develop and maintain firewall or other network based filtering policiesMonitor core network capacity and performance for any potential problems, including taking action to mitigate or prevent problems in a timely mannerTake the lead in troubleshooting complex customer or internal network issuesAct as the highest technical escalation point for all customer and service related issuesTrain and develop others for increasing responsibility of the IP networkDevelop and publish core network diagrams to include Layer 2 and 3 interconnectionsMaintain core network POP, colocation and data center design diagramsEvaluate emerging technologies and create implementation strategies for inclusion in the wider networkAct as a subject-matter expert in all core network change management activities (peering, transport, hardware, etc.) including the development of change and test plansDevelop and publish network architecture and configuration standards for backbone and customer networksPublish Monthly or On-Demand network utilization and other performance statisticsUnderstanding and knowledge of best practices in regards to Carrier install methods.All other job duties as assigned.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree preferred, preferably in Computer Science, Networking, Technology or Engineering.
JNCIP or JNCIE Network Certification preferred
Experience in architecting service provider networks that including Ethernet, DWDM, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, MPLS and Layer 2 Switching
Experience in managing DWDM Optical Transport equipment.
