　　AWS is seeking a Senior Manager to lead the Asia Pacific & Japan (APJ) Startup Business Development team. The team, comprised of startup founders, operators, investors and influencers, is focused on engaging with the region’s robustly growing startup community and ecosystem (including venture capital firms, accelerators, incubators, and universities). You will lead the team to earn trust, engage, and help startups at all stages of maturity to build and scale their business with AWS.

　　In this role, you will create and implement the development and execution of long-term strategies that are attuned to startup customer needs, earning the trust of our customers and helping to accelerate and expand our startup business in APJ. You will work closely with other senior internal stakeholders across sales, solutions architects, marketing, product, partners, and support teams to build programs, mechanisms and go-to-market approaches that ensure startups choose AWS as their cloud platform and business partner. You will be part of a global team of other executive leaders and will work jointly with them to lead what is best for our customers both in the APJ region as well as globally.

　　Key job responsibilities

　　• Develop high performing, diverse teams; manage an organization with multiple layers and functions across multiple countries including India, ASEAN, Japan, Australia & New Zealand (ANZ) and Korea

　　• Lead as a manager of managers for the APJ region. Be the strategic thinker, figurehead and culture-champion representing the Start-up BD team both internally and externally

　　• Develop and execute a comprehensive and long-term go-to-market strategies, service offerings, and programs that solve the needs of our growing startup customers .

　　• Develop long-term trusted relationships with key startups and ecosystem influencers

　　• Establish mechanisms to ensure continuous inspection and improved productivity across teams against regional and global goals and objectives.

　　• Identify and nurture pan-APJ stakeholder relationships to ensure an understanding of area specific needs and commonalities across the region

　　• Work as part of a global AWS team, forging the broader global startup business development strategies as well as prepare and present business reviews to other AWS senior leadership teams regarding progress and roadblocks on business development initiatives in region and in domain.

　　Basic Qualifications

　　• Extensive experience with startups and/or the startup ecosystem(s)

　　• Business acumen required to identify and support startups with strong potential to succeed and scale

　　• Significant technology-related business development and/or sales experience

　　• Demonstrated creative problem solving skills.

　　• Prior experience building and leading large, diverse teams as well as delivering results through influencing related teams and functions

　　• Experience working across different APJ markets

　　• Proven track record driving customer acquisition

　　• Demonstrated history of meeting and exceeding performance goals

　　• Strong verbal and written communications skills.

　　• Strong leadership skills, with significant experience as a manager of team managers is mandatory

　　• BA/BS degree

　　Preferred Qualifications

　　• Senior operating experience within a tech startup

　　• Experience founding and/or scaling and managing a tech startup is highly preferential

　　• Extensive customer and startup ecosystem networks

　　• A technical background in engineering, computer science, or MIS is a plus.

　　• MBA degree in relevant field
