The Role, Sr. Frontend Engineer 

-This position is based in South Africa

Overview: We are looking for an experienced Sr. Frontend Engineer who is responsible for the development and maintenance of a SaaS application portfolio. The ideal candidate is interested in creating innovative applications, loves to build new things, and is comfortable across a range of technologies. We need someone who is resourceful in getting things done — a productive team member that is both independent and collaborative.

You should be excited about experimenting and pushing boundaries. Our ideal teammates are constantly looking to learn something new and become better at what they do — whether that means doing self-driven research or asking the other individuals questions where they are most knowledgeable.

Your Most Important Initiatives:

Contribute to all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle, from planning to delivery.

Collaborate with cross-functional team members to develop technical requirements.

Write clean code to develop functional web applications and reusable libraries.

Troubleshoot and support production applications.

Thorough understanding of React and its core principles

Experience with common front-end development tools such as Webpack, Jest, etc.

Familiarity with Git, Github, Github Actions

What You bring:

7+ years of software development experience

5+ years Experience with Javascript language React + Redux framework

Experience with Tanstack-Query as added advantage

Experience with agile methodologies, enjoy shipping code often and confidently.

Take ownership of the product

Excellent communication skills

Experience with interacting with RESTful APIs

Experience building frontend testing

Evaluate existing engineering tools processes and recommend improvements.

Recommend and prototype new technologies to improve system performance and reliability.

Ensure high quality deliverables and testing standards.

Building maintainable, modular, reusable components and front-end libraries for future use

Solve difficult technical challenges in scaling a massive codebase

Use modern development APIs such as React Suspense and Hooks
