About Senior Design Development Drafter

  JOB SUMMARYThe Senior Design Development Drafter is responsible for developing new or revised 2D or 3D block-out drawings from design team sketches or other conceptual material. Coordinate directly with Senior Design staff and Zone Product Managers to execute accurate and complete CAD documents to support design development milestones and plan production process. Conduct thorough drawing and design reviews throughout the development process, adhering to established design, construction and CAD standards.Mentor and provide instruction to architectural drafters through the design development process. Adopt and implement design and CAD standards in coordination with National CAD Systems Manager. Coordinate BIM structural models and CAD drawings with other building design team disciplines.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  Develop and prepare 2D or 3D design concepts using established CAD software and supporting content.

  Perform ongoing reviews of structural models and drawings, checking for accuracy, completeness adherence to published standards

  Responsible for meeting assigned deadlines and communicating project status updates on a regular basis

  Accurately estimate the time required for assigned tasks and manage time appropriately

  Use standardized tools, processes, and design guidelines to create

  efficient, cost effective solutions to marketing needs.

  Maintain and expand knowledge of structural elements and construction methods.

  Ability to communicate effectively with design team and outside departments

  Ability to follow company BIM standards and procedures

  Ensure quality control on all work completed by architectural drafting team

  Maintain design documents and block-outs in an organized format.

  REQUIRED EDUCATION

  Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Design, Construction or equivalent work experienceREQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  Related Functional Experience: Minimum 4-7 years’ experience in residential design and 2D / 3D CAD operations.

  Thorough knowledge of residential construction, general code requirements and design preferences in various markets

  Expert use and application of AutoCAD drafting software, modeling and related computer software

  Strong communication and organizational skills

  Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

  Software skills – Microsoft Office 365 or Office 2016
