　　THE ROLE:AMD's Cores Organization delivers industry leading CPU's, Caches, andChiplets that are the foundation of AMD's server, client, and gamingbusiness. We are looking for an experienced VLSI RTL design engineer to jointhis innovative team as a technical expert. In this role, the candidatewill invent and implement the highest performance, most energy efficientcache and fabric designs in the industry. The candidate will be a keycontributor and leader for AMD's next generation cores and caches. Thecandidate will join the team based in Fort Collins, CO.

　　THE PERSON:The candidate has Senior experience in Cache Controller Design and successfulexperience delivering on aggressive goals on aggressive schedules. As aMicroarchitecture and RTL expert for our Cache designs, it is important forthe candidate to enjoy engaging with many different teams covering a breadthof technical areas. We are pushing the envelope on chip performance, so thestatus quo must be challenged on every program. This environment requirescreativity and innovation, but also excellent verbal and writtencommunication skills. The candidate has strong analytical thinking andproblem-solving skills and enjoys using those skills to accomplish goals thatmany might not think possible. Our team delivers critical designs for multipleAMD products and our team is growing both in capability and size, so thecandidate must have the ability and desire to guide and develop people.

　　KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide successful Cache Architecture development and execution using RTLDesign, Verilog HDL, and scripting.Collaborate with Cache and CPU Architects to design, document, and executeoptimized high-performance Cache and Routing Fabric designs.Collaborate with Physical Design to develop RTL that is optimized for physicalconstruction and timing closure.Collaborate with Design Verification to develop architecture and features thatare documented clearly and are verifiable.Collaborate with Design For Test teams to develop RTL that is reliable,testable, and manufacturable.Provide leadership for a dedicated team of hardware and software engineers todefine and implement the CPU-level microarchitectureWork across global teams to solve complex architectural interactions betweenIP and SOC designsDevelop ways to improve our CPU design by increasing quality, by simplifyingdesign complexities through innovation, and by improving our technicalinteractions with other teamsSolve design and tool problems requiring ground-breaking approaches andchampion innovation across the organization. Create technical presentationsfor peers and management.Guide and mentor junior engineers.PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:Prior experience with successful Cache architecture development and executionPrior experience collaborating effectively with a diverse team acrossdisciplines.Prior leadership experience with Digital RTL Design, Verilog HDL, andScriptingACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:BS/MS in EE, CS, CSE (or similar), plus 8+ years hardware design experienceLOCATION: Ft.
