We are hiring a Senior Bridge Engineer (P.E. and S.E.) to work as part of our structures group in a team environment and leadership role, focused on delivery of bridge design packages for a variety of clients.
This position is part of the J-U-B Transportation Services Group (TSG) which consists of over 70 full time staff focused on surface transportation projects in Idaho, Utah, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, Oregon and Wyoming. The TSG is currently managing over 160 active projects, many of which include a variety of bridges from simple single spans to large (400'+) multiple spans. The Structures Group, a subset of the TSG, includes a mixture of senior and junior bridge engineers and support staff located across the company. We are growing our Structures Group, and you can be a major contributor to that growth in a senior leadership & business development role.
The Senior Bridge Engineer will manage, perform, and oversee the completion of structural calculations using the latest AASHTO LRFD codes, production of construction drawings, and specifications and estimates for construction costs. The main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Project and program management of structures projects and programsLead and mentor younger/junior staff such as PEs, EITs, interns, designers, and draftersGeometric layout of single- and multi-span bridgesStructural analysis and design of single- and multi-span bridgesStructural analysis and design of retaining wallsSeismic Analysis of new and existing bridge structuresPreparation of structural reports and studies (type selection reports, seismic analysis reports, etc.) and situation and layout sheetsCoordination with geotechnical, roadway, and hydraulic design engineersDevelop specifications and opinions of costShop drawing and submittal reviews during constructionInteract with clients for direction on project items and coordination as needed to produce deliverables and/or manage the production of deliverablesProvide support and strategy for business development related to structures and transportationQualifications:
Demonstrated experience as the lead/senior bridge engineer on transportation projectsP.E. Licensure is required; S.E. licensure is required20-30 years of bridge engineering experienceExpertise with interpreting geotechnical reports and coordinating with geotechnical subconsultantsExpertise with the AASHTO LRFD Design ManualExperience in creating and reviewing construction documentsCommunication, planning, organizational skills, and the ability to direct the work of othersSalary: Hiring Salary Range is $160,000-$200,000/year, determined by experience.
