SUMMARY
Apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information andprepare financial reports. Maintain or oversee the control of accountsand records in such areas as disbursements, expenses, tax payments, andincome. Manage the monthly close process and manage the chart ofaccounts and general ledger.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Compile and analyze financial information to record transactions,prepare reports, and review and verify accuracy.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly journal entries and reports.
Prepare balance sheet and profit and loss statements, statement of cashflows, and other accounting schedules and reports.
Maintain Fixed Assets Ledger and subsequent depreciation schedules.
Record, classify and summarize financial transactions and events inaccordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Prepare and organize supporting documentation for audit purposes.
Prepare journal entries, maintains and reconcile ledger accounts.
Maintain regular and detailed interaction with A/P, AR, andManufacturing Cost functions for analytical and process support.
Help with filing municipal and state tax reports on a monthly andquarterly basis.
Other duties may be assigned.

SKILLS and ABILITIES
Experience in month-end close process adhering to established deadlines.
Experience with government contracts and FAR regulations.
Thorough working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Demonstrated ability to anticipate and solve practical problems orresolve issues.
JD Edwards System experience and/or similar ERP system experiencepreferred.
Demonstrated ability to anticipate and solve practical problems orresolve issues.
The ability to understand and follow instructions and the ability toconcentrate are required.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, and other MicrosoftOffice Applications.
Excellent written, verbal, communication and interpersonal skillsrequired.
The ability to get along with others or to be part of a team isrequired.
Regular attendance at the worksite is required.
Access to Export Control Information is required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor\'s degree (B.S.) from a four-year College or University inAccounting or equivalent field of study; and at least 4-6 years relatedexperience and/or training preferably in a manufacturing environment; orequivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in the month in close process adhering to establisheddeadlines.
Previous experience in cost accounting beneficial.
