Our client, in the Retail sector is seeking a Security Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have Firewall administration skills, Networking experience and an independent work ethic which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Security Engineer
Location: Columbus, OH (100% Off-site)
Pay Range: $50-60/hr
What’s the Job?
As an individual contributor, you will play a vital role in network and firewall operations, management, and administration. The primary focus is on safeguarding information assets and technology infrastructures. Responsibilities include building Ad-Hoc (simple) Rules and implementing network changes as needed, contributing to project work, and collaborating within a team. The role requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.
Typical Day:
Attend Team Meetings and Project Meetings.
Review Firewall Requests and Rules.
Build Firewall Rules as required.
Engage in discussions on Networking.
Implement minor network changes.
What’s Needed?
Firewall Expertise: Proficient in Palo Alto firewall management.
Network Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Cisco/Arista networking.
Routing/Switching Knowledge: Strong background in routing and switching.
Collaboration Skills: Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
Independent Work Ethic: Capable of working independently on assigned tasks.
Curiosity and Open-mindedness: Possesses a curious and open-minded approach to problem-solving.
