About Safety Supervisor

  As a Plant Safety Supervisor in a meat processing facility located in Sioux Falls, SD, you will take on a pivotal role in the site's health and safety programs. The position offers a competitive salary range of $75,000 - $80,000 and may go higher for exceptional candidates, along with a 10% bonus, and full relocation assistance.

  Key Responsibilities:

  Designing, managing, and implementing comprehensive health and safety programs, providing guidance at all levels within the plant to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.

  Creating, supporting, and enhancing strategies to establish and improve safety compliance, along with educating employees in proper safety procedures and policies.

  Leading proactive efforts in air monitoring, conducting root cause analyses, and job hazard analyses for ergonomic improvements and injury prevention.

  Ensuring adherence to internal auditing schedules and conducting preventive/corrective action follow-up.

  Qualifications:

  A bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, or a related field, from an accredited four-year college or university and 2+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

  Experience in providing training, coaching, or mentoring to staff, along with knowledge of OSHA, food industry experience is a plus.

  Superior communication and organizational skills, coupled with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and make sound decisions.

  A strong understanding of the physical demands and work environment characteristics encountered in a production facility.

  The work environment may include exposure to wet or humid conditions, extreme temperatures, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, as well as exposure to chemicals. The position may also require occasional lifting or movement of up to 50 pounds, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
