Job Description
The Research Associate will be responsible for the operation of isotope ratio mass spectrometers and associated sample prep equipment, reporting of results, hiring, training and oversight of undergraduate hourly workers.
Required Education and experience:
Bachelor's degree in related field and 2 years' relevant professional experience
Preferred Education and experience:
Masters in chemistry, Physics, Biology, Ecology, or related field and 2 years of experience in a research laboratory
Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Familiarity with appropriate laboratory and/or technical equipment Ability to effectively utilize a computer and applicable software to create databases, perform statistical analyses, present data and perform other computer related tasks.
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Ability to work during normal working hours (approx. 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM)
Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
Job Responsibilities
50% Operation of IRMS instruments
30% Oversight of undergraduate workers
10% Communication with lab directors and Assoc. Research Scientist
5% Maintenance of records
5% other duties assigned.
