Surgical Unit: This 72-bed unit encompasses three service lines(Neurology, Orthopedics and Rehabilitation) and 14 sub-specialties.Patients are treated for trauma, solid-organ transplant, burns, generalsurgery, plastics, urology, colorectal, bariatrics, neurology,neurosurgery, epilepsy monitoring, orthopedics and rehabilitation andreceive state-of-the-art interventions and treatments, as well asspecialized nHematology/Oncology Unit: With 48 inpatient beds and 16 infusion rooms,this unit can service over 1,000 bone marrow transplants. Patients includeinfants, children, adolescents, and young adults with cancer, blooddisorders, cellular therapy primarily for cancer not responsive toconventional therapies, as well as immunodeficiency or selected geneticdisorders. It also services medical and surgical overflow. We care forpatients with a non-malignant diagnosis, experimental therapeutics and thoserequiring hospitalization for radioactive treatments.Medical Unit: This unit has 48 beds and serves children with a variety ofmedical conditions specializing in digestive health, renal impairment,infectious diseases, behavioral health, endocrine and metabolic disordersand immune deficiencies. The unit also cares for patients with an acutemedical need with a behavioral health concern (e.g., eating disorder,suicide attempt/ideation, conversion disorder).Pulomonary Unit: This unit has 48 beds and is associated with . This unitcares for pediatric patients with a variety of conditions such as pulmonary(asthma, bronchiolitis, croup, pneumonia, pertussis, cysticfibrosis, bronchomalacia, chronic ventilation status) and airwayconditions (tracheostomy status, airway anomalies, tracheal malacia andatresia, airway reconstruction, and tonsil/adenoidectomy).The Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (CPCU) provides care for children withcongenital heart disease, pulmonary hypertension and acquired heartdisease, serving patients from neonate through adulthood (for adults withcongenital heart disease). Conditions include heart transplants,cardiology (medical and surgical) including congenital and acquired heartdisease, pre- and post-heart transplant for vasoactive and anti-rejectiontherapies, pulmonary hypertension, cardiac catheterization recovery andadult congenital heart patients. Patients in the CPCU are cared for by amultidisciplinary team including dedicated cardiac medical providers, RNsand dedicated pharmacists, nutritionists, social workers and child lifespecialists. We individualize care to meet the unique needs of each patientand family. The CPCU specializes in managing patients on the continuum betweencritical care and ready to discharge, with a wide range of pati nt acuity.This unit also services medical and surgical overflow.
