Quality Engineer (Metallurgical)

Schedule: Mon fri 7am 3pm 100% onsite
Major Purpose:
Provide metallurgical guidance and project ownership to multiple valuestreams positively affecting PQVC in assigned areas
Typical Day in the Role
Review and ensure metallurgical control plan conformance
Trending and reporting of metallurgical properties
Defect characterization and reporting
Metallurgical casting and heat treat development
Metallurgical PPAP documentation
Internal and external metallurgical deviation ownership
Metallurgical process ownership including inoculation, treatment,thermal analysis, charge materials, inspection, heat treatment, anddestructive auditing
Interaction with team:
Interact daily with management and production employees
Work environment:
Foundry, machine shop, lab, and office environments
Education & Experience Required:
B.S or M.S. in Metallurgy, Materials Science, or Materials Engineering
Technical Skills
(Required)
Understanding of ferrous metallurgy
Exposure to foundry/casting and material characterization processes
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
(Desired)
Experience in data analysis using statistical software such as Minitab
Experience with PowerBI
6Sigma green belt certification
Soft Skills
(Required)
Zero-Injury and Stop-to-Fix mindset
Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams
