Job Summary: This position will gain hands-on site experience and mentorship from a Project Manager. The Project Manager Intern will complete all assigned tasks to help ensure projects are successful. The position will work with the internal team to ensure that assigned projects are successful by working with clients, contractors, and partners, in following standards, practices, and schedules that result in value-added projects being on-time, on budget and ultimately forming lasting relationships with our customers. The Project Manager Intern will gain knowledge of budgeting, policies and safety, project submittals, effective communication, and much more through working with an internal team, architects, owners, clients, facility staff, and others involved in the construction process. The intern will complete other duties and responsibilities assigned to assist the project team and ensure a successful project completion.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in creating and successfully maintaining project budget and schedule.
Successfully coordinates on-site project team, contractors, vendors, schedule, owner correspondence, client-relations, drawing management, approvals, materials, and deliveries.
Ensures and maintains culture of safety on project site.
Productively communicates and regularly interacts with owner.
Attend project meetings with necessary stakeholders and/or project team.
Works with architect and contractors to compile pricing and estimates for submittal to owner.
Ensures necessary permits are obtained from corresponding agencies.
Work with owner and facility staff to ensure understanding of construction process, project progress, timelines, schedule, and budget.
Follows internal process, policies, and delivery methods for construction projects.
Effectively communicates and works with internal team including site superintendent, project director, and project coordinator.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Licenses/Certifications required):
Currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management or related field.
Junior or Senior status preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to travel to project sites.
Must hold valid driver’s license
Proven ability to listen carefully and work well on a team.
Have the desire to learn quickly and grow professionally within the field.
Ability to attend project-related meetings outside of normal business hours.
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products.
Proven ability to maintain excellent integrity and ethical standards within role.
