About PROGRAM ANALYST (STRATCOMM)

  Summary You will serve as a PROGRAM ANALYST (STRATEGIC COMMUNICATION) in the Department of Navy, Office of Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Energy, Installations & Environment) at the Pentagon. Responsibilities You will be responsible for development and coordination of communication programs; planning, coordinating and managing multiple social media accounts, Strategic Communications SharePoint web page, and future initiatives. You will develop and implement strategic communication plans and tactics to further the organization’s programs regarding vision, mission, and initiatives. You will produce written products and execute a variety of engagements to inform and educate internal, external, Congressional, and public audiences on the Assistant Secretary of the Navy's Energy, Installations, and Environment program. You will draft public releases, speeches, social media posts, congressional testimony and other communication products for the Assistant Secretary and other senior Department of the Navy leaders. You will oversee and develop communication programs, policies, procedures, and products that support Department of the Navy's Energy, Installations and Environment portfolio and partner with the appropriate DON organizations for implementation. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Serving as an adviser to senior management and subject-matter-experts (SMEs) on all aspects of strategic communications; Managing social media and online presence to monitor media coverage on behalf of an organization; AND Drafting speeches for senior leaders, press releases, and other public information deliverables. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. This position is eligible for part time or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
