Job Summary
The purpose of the Program Specialist, Young Professionals(YPs) Group Relations is to serve as the subject matter expert and the project management lead for global Affinity Group (AG) development and operations. The incumbent serves as the point of contact for YP Regional Coordinators and AG Officers to assist and support AG vitality, which includes tracking & planning events, AG officer reporting, and best practices.
This position also supports YP task forces and subcommittees to advance strategic goals. The incumbent in this position maintains operations in assigned functional areas and is primarily responsible for leading, planning, executing, marketing & communicating to YPs. This includes assessments of highly visible global products, and services in a portfolio management framework encompassing web-based and virtual platforms, career assistance, membership transition resources, and projects based on annual plans. The position will play a critical role in improving member satisfaction, assisting MGA in delivering an outstanding member experience leading to market growth.
The role reports to the Sr. Manager, Member Programs and does not have direct reports. This position works with volunteers, staff and strategic partners under moderate supervision within a team culture of shared authority.
Key Responsibilities
Program and Project Management (40%) Creates detailed work plans that identify and document the scope and sequence, objectives, resources, and schedule of activities required for completion Project manage the completion of deliverables in collaboration with principal stakeholders Produces regular progress reports and maintains all related documentation and analysis Compiles and makes presentations Ensures goals and objectives are on track and deadlines met Assists with budget construction, adherence, and administration Affinity Group & Task Force Management (20%) Maintains rosters for Affinity Groups and Task Forces Supports events, communication, and officer reporting Communication & Marketing Materials (20%) Helps develop and communicate strategies in conjunction with team/stakeholders Monitors performance metrics and usage in conjunction with team/stakeholders Develops collateral and communications with team/stakeholders Reports out to colleagues and volunteers regularly (10%) Performs other duties as assigned (10%)
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Education and Certifications Req Work Experience
2-4 years experience in associations or comparable environments Req Strong track record of success in product/project management Req Skills and Requirements
Some domestic and/or international weekday and/or weekend travel required estimated (approx. 3x per year) Ability to shift focus/multi-task in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects Ability to work independently and as part of a team, including ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams Strong technical project management skills and tools. Smartsheet experience is a plus Comfortable working under tight deadlines on both individual and team-based projects Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Technologically savvy, but with a creative mindset and a strong understanding and practical experience with digital and social media marketing principles and platforms. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with staff, volunteers, and vendors Superior written, and verbal communication and presentation skills, including creating effective presentations.
